Sorry it has been a minute since my last update. I had to order a new debit card, and it is STILL not here.
Good news though.
I bought an alternator, and my son got his car running again.
Thank God!!! I was losing it.
My oldest, Kylie, has been feeling better the past few weeks, so we have been talking every day. That makes me so happy.
My old boss tried to contact me from a restricted number (because he is still blocked), but I shut that down quickly. Go ME!
Did I tell you guys child support took $4,700 out of my savings account? Yep. I had been saving it as my emergency fund for traveling.
But… I owed it. So another 9th Step amend down.
Speaking of recovery… I have TWO sponsees now and spoke at a big AA meeting last night. Pretty freakin’ cool!
My company decided to put me on their biggest and most important project which is long-term.
And guess what??? I applied for an apartment just to see what would happen… AND I GOT APPROVED. You guys… I have been homeless, living in motels, couch surfing, or in prison for more than eight years.
Now I am about to have a place to call home again.
And for the first time in my life…
It is going to be ALL MINE. I wish my kids were going to be there with me. I wish that part of the story was different. But I am still incredibly grateful.
Here’s to new adventures!
Sometimes I still cannot believe this is my life.
Only seven months ago, I was sitting in prison wondering what would happen when I got out.
Today…
I am packing for Arkansas.
Helping my son fix his car.
Sponsoring other women.
Getting the keys to my very own apartment.
And preparing for a future I wasn’t sure I would ever get to have.
Look at God, y’all.
